About

Nathalie MicaudI created this blog to share my passion for travelling. I had just came back from a trip to Japan and Thailand with my family. In preparation for this trip, I surfed on the net and looked at many blogs, and the idea came to me to create my own blog to share the experiences, the discoveries, the encounters, the emotions, the surprises, everything which makes a trip an unforgettable moment. I have been taking notes since 2010 in a small notebook which I always carry around with me, and there are quite a few journeys I would like to talk about.

I decided to start with the most recent trip, Japan, and then continue with Thailand. My stories will take us to Bhutan, India, Cambodia, Bali, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore, and quite a few other mesmerizing places. Well, my unrelenting thirst for travelling will likely take me to some new destinations in the near future, who knows.

Perhaps you will wonder why this name, ‘’Nathalie’s Backyard’’ ? Well, the idea is that the world is a small village, really : for everyone who loves to travel around the world, or dreams about travelling far and away, the world is our backyard, small in distance yet limitless in magical discoveries!

Writing this blog, with my heart in it, is a new adventure for me. The photo here was taken by François, my husband, in Hanoï, Vietnam, in 2008. With my travel guide in hands, this was the beginning of a series of journeys, and every one of these trips has been a wonder to me. And I would like to share that with you.
